Indonesia tourist VISA : what you need to know

Before setting off to discover Indonesia, one question often comes up: which visa do you need? Don’t worry — the process is fairly straightforward for a tourist trip.

For a short stay, you have two options.

The first is the online tourist visa (e-VOA), which you apply for before departure on the official immigration website. It’s a convenient option if you like to travel with peace of mind and avoid formalities on arrival.

This visa is valid for 30 days and can be extended once while in Indonesia.

The second option is the Visa on Arrival (VOA), which you can obtain directly upon arrival in Indonesia at certain international airports and ports. You’ll simply need a passport valid for at least six months, a return or onward ticket, and to pay the fee on the spot. This visa also allows a 30-day stay, renewable once.

👉 Good to know: the e-VOA and VOA grant the same rights. The choice mainly depends on whether you prefer to take care of the formalities in advance or on arrival.

As regulations may change, we recommend always checking official sources before your departure.

Enjoy your trip to Indonesia! 🌴
